Welcome
Start your accessibility journey here!
our mission
In short, our mission is to make the Puget Sound area more accessible and welcoming to disabled folks through education and partnership with our community. We believe that a lot can be accomplished through encouraging curious and respectful conversation and collaboration. We want to break down discomfort around disability discussion by creating an environment that fosters curiosity and learning. When people know better, they do better!
Having community engagement at the center of everything we do helps strengthen our support system as disabled individuals. Actually Disabled can then use their community connections to refer disabled individuals to the ever expanding and improving list of accessible resources. Together, we can all play a part in creating a society that doesn’t just accommodate disability, but incorporates it from the beginning through universal design and spreading awareness of what does work
Why choose us
At Actually Disabled LLC, our founders, Maggie and Angela, bring a unique perspective to their advocacy work, combining personal experiences with professional expertise to navigate the challenges faced by disabled individuals. With a deep understanding of the disabled community, they offer compassionate and informed consulting services.
Based in the Greater Puget Sound Region, our virtual practice enables wide client connections, with the flexibility to accommodate in-person consultations, particularly for local projects related to built space accessibility. Our dedication lies in empowering individuals with disabilities and fostering inclusivity to create a more accessible society.
